How is everyone this fine week? I made my grand return to the day-job yesterday, and it went ok. Even after a break, it still feels like captivity, but I’ll be alright.
I am happy to report that I am nearly halfway finished with recording the nonfiction audiobook! Anyone who does narration and editing probably knows that isn’t really the most time-consuming part of the process, but I am pleased with my progress, nonetheless.
Also, during my session today, Ham (ginger cat #2) did not cry while I was in the booth. Hopefully, this means that he has figured out that I am not going in there to die or whatever he thought in his weird, little goblin brain.
I’ve also been working on cleaning up some book stuff. Looking at some of this makes me feel like I’ve been asleep for about 3-4 years. Like, where the heck did I go?
First, the book page on this very blog is soooooo outdated. NO, DON’T LOOK AT IT. For you will see my shame. I’ve got old covers on there and missing books. The format is super wonky. It’s just…bad. Fixing it is 100% a priority on the to-do list.
I’m going to update all the book stuff and give it a much more browsable format.
I also pulled the listing for my book Pestilence Rising from Babelcube, which is a site that connects publishers with translators. I posted the listing a few years ago, but I wasn’t really sure I wanted to do it. So I just kind of left the listing up and ignored the offers I periodically received.
If you sent me an offer that I never responded to, I sincerely apologize for being an a-hole.
I’m still trying to decide whether I want to post projects there. I currently have someone looking at their agreement to make sure I’m not giving up any of my copyrights. I’m greedy with those. They’re mine.
One thing I have enjoyed while going back and looking at stuff is seeing that my books have decent review ratings. It makes me feel like I’m contributing something to the book world, despite the fact that I’ve been neglecting so much.
Well, that’s all I have for now. Be sure to tune in tomorrow for the flash fiction post. It’s one of the weirder ones from this batch, probably my favorite, honestly.
