Flash fiction: In the Meadow

The old witch had searched nearly her whole life for a will-o’-the-wisp, a fairy, who might grant her a wish. The light in the meadow taunted her for several nights, bouncing and weaving as the witch gave gleeful chase.

But when the game was over, and the light took the form of a man instead of a fairy, suffice it to say, the witch was disappointed. And when he claimed divine origin and demanded her worship, suffice it to say that she howled with laughter and devoured him whole.
