Hey there, kats and kittenz! I thought I’d pop onto the blog and drop some knowledge, seeing as I’m sitting here in the dark with the power out.
Want to see my super creepy selfie? Of course, you do!
Slightly demonic, no? Loving those black eyes! There can’t possibly be a better use of precious cell phone battery power.
I tried to write again this weekend. It didn’t work. I was mostly okay on time, except for that short cubicle jail stint I picked up on Saturday. This time, I hit a bad patch in my book notes, and by bad patch, I mean that if I could’ve, I would’ve traveled into the past to smack myself with a rolled-up paper and asked – what the heck is this?
The notes went like this.
Back story, random facts, couple of chapters, more back story, random character notes, maybe some more story and some parts that didn’t make enough sense for me to follow, etc. It goes on.
It was like someone with attention deficit disorder wrote them or something.
By the way, I can make that comment, because I have it, so if you were looking to get offended, continue on down the road! Not today, oversensitive babies. Not. Today.
I discovered that I can’t write without having my thoughts organized and in a file or on paper so I can keep myself on track. I did try to write without proper notes and nothing would come. I actually had a weird moment where I was jumping between my manuscript and my notes, trying to find a way to push through and just write something.
I couldn’t do it.
Is that what writer’s block is? Brain-lock due to poor planning?
Anyway, so I had to spend most of my weekend writing hours deciphering my mess and basically plotting out the rest of the book. It’s much better now. I’ve moved all my reference material to the end of the document, and my chapter notes are at the beginning.
That’s all I have for now. I hope the power comes back on soon.
